Welcome to the Recreation Program and Tour Adventures Guide for people with Disabilities.
We start off with the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program (WASP) who specialize in providing recreation programs for the disabled.
Whistler Adaptive Sports Program provides the opportunity
for hundreds of people with a wide range of disabilities to
take part in sports and recreation programs along side any
other Canadian, with a sense of adventure and the feeling
of well-being that comes from immersing oneself in Whistler's
world class recreational opportunities. You
would be surprised to find out, that you can take part in
most of the "Thrill Seeking Adventures" offered
in Whistler just like everyone else.
Two ASL (American Sign Language Interpreters) Instructors are available for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing on all Winter programs. The ASL Instructors can speak up to 12 different Languages for Signing which is pretty amazing. Please make sure to request an ASL Instructor when making a booking if required. We have very few limitations, as long a person can sit down we can provide a tour. For those with limited upper body strength or needing additional assistance to remain seated we can provide a 4 point harness to ensure a comfortable seating position. The Core is the ultimate four season climbing and fitness facility. It combines the promotion of health and exercise-related activities designed to facilitate positive lifestyles, for both families and individuals to enjoy. These activities will include a climbing gym, kid’s adventure zone with a maze of tunnels, ladders, slides, and other obstacles creating the perfect indoor playground, weight/cardio area, multi-purpose fitness area, lounging/viewing area and base camp for a variety of outdoor activities. Wheel Chair Access is available via an elevator located close to the entrance please call for us to meet you at the top of the stairs. Phone 604.905.7625 or e-mail us your arrival time at info@whistlercore.com The Core Climbing Gym is located under the Telus Conference Centre. Entrance is located in front of Buffalo Bills night club. Please phone us on arrival for Elevator Access pay phones are located just in front of the entrance.
The biggest difficulty we have accommodating a disabled person is if they are in a wheel chair. Our terrain is varied and there are quite a few stairs to climb. Please

At Outdoor Adventures, we pride ourselves on being providers of inclusive recreational opportunities and encourage anyone interested to contact us for detailed information regarding the requirements of our different activities regarding disabled accessibility. Our Dogsled and Sleighrides are very accessible to the disabled. However, due to safety concerns the Snowmobile Adventure is limited for the Hard of Hearing and the Deaf Community as you would need to be able to communicate with the Tour Driver on your own or with an ASL Interpreter that you would have to bring yourself. The Snow Mobile Tour is also not available for the Mobility Restricted. Our Snow Shoe Adventure is not available to the Mobility Restricted due to the terrain covered and the type of adventure. Bungee
We have had quite a few disabled people come out and have the
time of there life. Bungee Jumping is a great activity for disabled
as there is no skill required, as long as we can get them into
a harness then they can jump or we can push them. We have full wheelchair access to the bridge and over the bridge. We jump year round. Please visit the above link for more information.
We have taken out many Hard of Hearing and Deaf groups
in the past for Heli Skiing Adventures and they loved it. For
Visually Impaired it would depend on the severity of
the vision so you would have to contact us. It is possible to
take you along once we know that information. But would
need to know before hand for safety issues. Please contact us for further information.
  Canadian
Snowmobile
Are Snowcat Tours are both suitable for the Hard of Hearing
and Mobility Restricted guests. Snowmobile Tours would require the Deaf or Hard of Hearing person be able to communicate with the Lead Tour Driver on his Snowmobile, or you could go as a passenger. Please visit the above link for more information.
