Like many other communities Whistler Village is striving to adapt and grow with the needs of the disabled.

It is a long road but Whistler has made progress and by the time the 2010 Paralympics are under way the Resort should have all it's Transit Buses Wheel Chair Accessible. Progress is taking place all the time just take a look at the following developments.

For Accessible Taxi Service in Whistler please contact Resort Cabs who have two taxi's available at 604-938-1515. They also provide Airport Shuttle Service. There is also one Accessible Cab at Whistler Taxi Services at (604) 932-3333 or toll free at (800) 203-5322.

The Resort Municipality of Whistler is also offering a Taxi Saver Program to help you get around Whistler please contact them for more information.

New Village Access:

TTY Public Access Pay Phones are now available in Whistler for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing one is located just off the Taxi Loop main Village entrance and the other is located in the IGA Market Place between the McDonald's Restaurant and the TD Bank View Map.

A "New" Accessible Elevator to The Old Spaghetti Factory and The Crystal Lodge is now located directly behind Ric's Grill off the Village Stroll.

The Elevator also provides access to the Listel Hotel and Bearfoot Bistro from the Village (see map). For a more detailed map for accessible parking, elevator access and washroom locations for the disabled.

Find your way around the Village with the New Signs for the Mobility Restricted from the Resort Municipality recently installed at various locations so keep your eyes open for ramp access.
