Whistler for the Disabled


Whistler Mountain GondolaWhistler & Blackcomb Mountains take great strives to accommodate the disabled who visit both Mountains.

Whistler Mountain is accessible to everyone via the Village Gondola. Located just next to the Westin Hotel and across from the Pan Pacific Hotel. Whistler Mountain is the only Gondola to the top of the mountain for wheel chair and the mobility restricted guest using Walkers or Aids.

No scooters are allowed in the Gondola as they cannot fit. A Wheel Chair is located at the top of the Mountain on a first come and first serve basis.

Blackcomb Mountain is accessible by either four person ski lift chair or by Gondola which does not go to the top of the Mountain and is not wheel chair accessible..

Whistler Bike Park is accessible to Quad Mountain Bikers in the Summer months only please see our detailed guide for information on Access to the park.

Coming soon to the Mountains, the PEAK TO PEAK Gondola that will provide access to both rendezvous via the top of Whistler Mountain and Blackcomb Mountain.

Whistler Adaptive Sports Program (WASP)
a program operating at Whistler Blackcomb catering to the Disabled, is now offering Summer Kayaking, Canoeing and Hand Cycling. They also offer great Winter Sports for people with disabilities.

The Whistler Adaptive Sports Program aim's to make snow sports accessible to people of all abilities. The program caters to a full spectrum of skiers and snowboarders from beginner through advanced. Our trained and certified instructors, guides, and assistants will help you access the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb. For more information on Winter Sports visit WASP web site and Register.

No discounts are currently available on lift tickets for people with disabilities. However, special arrangements can be made for an accompanying assistant in the Winter time only.

Special Lift Line Priority

Sit-skiers are permitted to use the Ski School lineups without the need of a special pass.

No other disabled person is given priority unless they are in our Ski School or Adaptive program. Guest Relations can produce a priority pass, on special request, to other disabled skiers who's disability makes it extremely difficult to stand in line. This will be assessed on an individual basis. Please see the Guest Relations Senior Host on duty.


The Whistler Village Gondola is the only accessible Lift for Wheel Chair Access.

Guide dogs are permitted to access the Whistler Village Gondola and to accompany any disabled person in our restaurants.
