Banks in Whistler BC
There
are Two Major Banks in Whistler the Royal Bank of Canada, which
has ramp access via the road and an elevator access via the underground
parking lot located to the rear of the building not through the
main parking garage located near the Telus Conference Centre in
the Whistler Village area.
The
Toronto Domion Bank is also Accessible located at the IGA Market
Place in the Professional Building with Elevator Access via the
Underground parking Garage and at street level located in front
of the Rogers Video Store.
Need
to Access "Full Service Gas Stations" in BC
Full
Service Gas Stations in BC. There are currently no
Full Service Gas Stations in Whistler. However one Shell Gas Station
is located in Creekside Whistler.
The
Full Service Gas Station closest to Whistler is located in
Sqaumish BC., and this is your half way point about 45 minutes to
1 hour away depending on traffic and weather.
It
is a "Chevon Gas Station" located at Hwy. 99 and Garibaldi
Way. There are however many stations in Vancouver / BC please
see the complete list at the above link put together by BC Paraplegic
Association.
Adaptive
Sports Program WASP
The
Whistler
Adaptive Sports Program (WASP) is a not-for-profit
society that provides year-around, recreational programs for people
of all ages with disabilities. We are a centre for learning and
sports excellence that has a local, regional, national and international
clientele and encourage independence, self-confidence and self-motivation
for all of our athletes and participants through outdoor recreation.
They
also provide Adaptive Sports Equipment Rentals with Hand
Cycles, Nordic Sit Skis and Trail Riders which are modified Wheel
Chairs fro Hiking.

Assistance
and Help while in Whistler.
The Village Host program has 3 staff and 73 volunteers. As
resort ambassadors, Village Host volunteers help guests with easy
directions, quick answers and friendly advice. We have a booth centrally
located close to the Village Square attended daily from 10:00 am
to 4:00 pm. This is a "Free Service" and if you need any
assistance getting around while you are in Whistler or have any
questions prior to your arrival just contact us at the information
below. We also have copies of the Whistler Accessibility maps on
site or you can download the
Barrier
Free Route Map right
now created by the RMOW and Whistler for the Disabled.

Medical Clinic
Providing Non-Emergency
Medical Services to the Disabled Community.

Northlands has done extensive research and work to make this clinic
fully accessible to the disabled community in Whistler. They have
2 wheelchair access ramps for the clinic, a wheelchair parking space
within 15 ft of the clinic doors, push button disabled access front
door for entry into the clinic, seating room in the waiting area
specifically designated for wheelchair waiting and 2 medical rooms
that can accommodate wheelchair/disabled patients, one of which
has a hydraulic bed for ease of table transfers. The entire clinic
was designed to ensure ease of use by disabled visitors.
They also have fully accessible wheelchair bathrooms, which can
be used by visiting wheelchair users if other bathrooms locally
do not meet their needs. The adjacent Summit Lodge also has a wheelchair
accessible bathroom which is available to my patients. They also
accommodate Guide and Assistance Dogs at the location for their
clients.
Since opening we have been awarded by the PIQUE Newsmagazine ( Best
of Whistler 2005) Best New Business and the winner of the Environmental
Award for Best Small Business Category from AWARE (Association of
Whistler Area Residents for the Environment).

on Dialysis in BC for Kidney Patients

Find the nearest Dialysis Centre's though the Kidney Foundation
of Canada that provides a comprehensive guide and information. Although
there is no Kidney Dialysis Clinic in Whistler there is one in Squamish

Whistler Adaptive Sports Program offers Recreation Options
for the Developmentally Disabled and many other individuals with

Mobility
Gear can be rented from Access Sea to Sky who provides
the following rentals for your disability needs. You can rent manual
wheelchairs, raised toilet seats, bath benches, walkers, crutches
and they also have 3 Hand-Cycles and an accessible golf cart. For

issued from your place of residence. The RMOW honors out of province
and out of country disabled parking passes. Disabled BC residents

A very friendly Grocery & Pharmacy Store who are very proactive
in the needs for the Disabled.

But selection is Limited as the store is small.
Creekside
Market
The
Creekside Market is New and Modern Grocery Store but it is located
in the Creekside.
They offer Online Shopping but do not have the ability yet to let
you browse for items you need or for the prices of those items.
Online
Shopping is a flat $ 20 dollar charge for shopping & delivery.

IGA Market Place
Please

it seems however try contacting the store at the information they
