Our Adventures Guide starts off with the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program (WASP) who specialize in providing recreation programs for the disabled.

We follow up with the Tour Adventures available in Whistler for those wanting a real rush. This is a great guide to adventures if you are with others who do not have a disability and would like to take part in a group. You would be surprised to find out, that you can take part in most of the "Thrill Seeking Adventures" offered in Whistler just like everyone else.

Whistler Bungee for example, has the ability to handle even a wheel chair on a jump for the mobility restricted. You can see all your options listed below so take part in all that Whistler has to offer and try something you thought you would never do!

A Description of each Tour Adventure regarding Disabled Access is provided under the each quick reference table below. Note, make sure you inform the Tour Operator of any special requirements you have when booking an adventure so they can make arrangements prior to your arrival.

Whistler Bungee
Whistler Bungee Jumping

We have had quite a few disabled people come out and have the time of there life. Bungee Jumping is a great activity for disabled as there is no skill required, as long as we can get them into a harness then they can jump or we can push them.

We have full wheelchair access to the bridge and over the bridge! We jump year round.

Please visit the above link for more information

Zip TrekZip Trek & Tree Trek: Ziptrek and TreeTrek Ecotours take place high in the treetops between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. With a maximum of 8 people on a tour during the Winter, our guides must divide their attention between all guests to ensure the safety of everyone.

If a disabled person requires the assistance of another to walk, climb stairs, or understand the curriculum being given, then they will need to have a person or people with them to accomplish that.

The biggest difficulty we have accommodating a disabled person is if they are in a wheel chair. Our terrain is varied and there are quite a few stairs to climb. It is almost impossible in the Winter time. Please visit us at the above link for more information.

Whistler River Adventures office is located in the Whistler Village Gondola building at the base of Whistler Mountain. This is an easily accessible, ground level location and all of our tours depart from here. Our transport vehicles consist of vans and school buses, and rafting trips require a short walk at either end as well as active paddling.

At Outdoor Adventures, we pride ourselves on being providers of inclusive recreational opportunities and encourage anyone interested to contact us for detailed information regarding the requirements of our different activities regarding disabled accessibility.

Due to safety concerns the ATV tours are limited as you would need to be able to communicate with the Tour Guide Driver on your own or with an ASL Interpreter that you would have to bring yourself.

Canadian ATV ToursCanadian Hummer ToursCanadian Snowmobile Adventures

Our Hummer tours are both suitable for the Hard of Hearing and mobility restricted guests. Hummer tours are able to pick up from local locations, or the guest (who is mobility restricted) would be required to make their own way to the Whistler Mountain base area approximately 5 minutes away. From our Sales desk located in the Carleton lodge we could assist the guest into the Hummer for the tour and securely store any equipment for the guest at either our desk or our Private base located on the Mountain. ATV Tours would require the Deaf or Hard of Hearing guest be able to communicate with the Lead Driver on their ATV or they could go as a passenger with limitations. Again we would also supply secure storage for any of the guests equipment at either our sales desk or private base on Blackcomb Mountain. Please visit our above link for more information or contact our sales desk.

Whistler Mountaineer AdventuresWhistler Mountaineer Train Adventure

Whistler Mountaineer Vacations will make every effort to meet any special needs or requirements to accommodate our physically challenged guests.

We have wheelchair lifts or ramps at all train stations. Please note that you will be transferred to one of our aisle-width wheelchairs, which are adapted to fit the narrow aisles on our train, and transferred to a regular seat. Wheelchairs are transported to your final train destination by truck and are not stored onboard the train. Unfortunately, our liability insurance has limited coverage, and does not cover the full cost of the chair if something were to happen during transport. We ask that we be informed at time of booking of the extent of the disability so we may make the necessary arrangements to ensure a pleasant vacation experience.

If you are mobility restricted and need assistance you must bring your own attend to help you out. Our Shuttle Bus is not wheel chair accessible but we can provide you with a Taxi Voucher for an Accessible Cab if one is available.
