Accessible Transportation for Whistler BC

Great News, "21" New "Fully Accessible Public Transit Buses" have been delivered to Whistler recently. Making Whistler's Accessibility for the Mobility Restricted a little less hassle free and for many others as well. Visit their web site at Whistler Public Transit.

New sidewalks with Grooves in them and Color contrast help the Visually Impaired and Blind cross streets and new Ramps have been built for the Mobility Restricted and to assist Parents with Baby Strollers Access the Village.

The Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre  (SLCC)

The Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre located in Whistler is Accessible to the Mobility Restricted and offers a Special Reduced Rate for all those with a Disability.


Accessible Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb Mountains are Accessible only by the Whistler Gondola, located at the base of Whistler Mountain. Offers Sightseeing and the New "Peak to Peak Gondola" that can hold one Wheelchair during the Summer Months except for the Glass Bottom Cabin. Whistler Museum

Is fully Accessible to the Mobility Restricted with an Access Ramp in the front and Accessible Washrooms along with being Guide Dog Friendly of course. They just launched a new display the "Olympic Journey Exhibit" - Get your picture taken with an Olympic torch. The Museum is located just behind the Whistler Public Library for more information and parking locations please contact them at whistlermuseum.org


Whistler Farmers MarketWhistler's Farmers Market returns in the Spring time taking place every Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm in the upper Village area. With Arts and Fresh Vegetables / Fruits and taste testing the Market makes for a great hour or two spent. This is a Fully Accessible activity for People with Mobility Restrictions in Whistler BC during the summer months.

Whistler Parks and Recreation RMOW, Meadow Park

The Resort Municipality of Whistler Parks and Recreation offers many Accessible Public Parks during the summer months with Paved Trails, Parking and Facilities that are Accessible to the Mobility Restricted.

Meadow Park Sports Centre offers many indoor activities during those Rainy and Blizzard type of Days you would rather not be on the Mountains or outside. Offering some great hockey to watch or take part in yourself with a special area for the mobility restricted spectators, Swimming, Weight room and much more. All Accessible by Whistler Public Transit


Shannon Falls Provincial Park Squamish BCShannon Falls Provincial Park is located just outside of Squamish, at your half way mark to Whistler from Vancouver. The Park is "Accessible" to the Mobility Restricted via a Paved Pathway that has a slight incline to the Lower Falls Observation Deck. Shannon Falls rises over 335 Meters in Height and is one of the most beautiful falls you will ever visit in BC, Canada. Opened during the Summer Months Only. The Park is closed during the Winter due to snow and ice.

TTY Devices allow those with Hearing Loss and Speech Impairments to make phone calls on their own. This is great news for Whistler and now we have Four Full Functioning TTY Devices thanks to TELUS for their support two are located in the Village area (one in the IGA Market Place the other in the Breezeway Entrance to the Village and now Two New Devices on top of the Mountains. One has also been purchased by the RMOW and now located in the Whistler Public Library.

The Whistler Blackcomb Mountain (WB) Peak to Peak Gondola is wheelchair accessible during the Summer Months and Winter with a new Sled to transport you to the Blackcomb Lodge at top during the snow season. Accessibility is an important feature of Whistler Blackcomb’s landmark project and Canada’s newest tourism icon.
